Hussein is a 25-year-old above-knee amputee from Tanzania. In 2015 he had a job repairing electrical lines when the live cables came too close together, causing high voltage electricity to shoot through his body and knock him off his ladder. He had immense pain in his legs and eventually the doctors amputated his right leg above the knee.
After two months of rehabilitation, Hussein returned home to his family, but his lifestyle was not the same. In November 2017, our friends at SwissLimbs gave Hussein his first prosthetic leg, which included an All-Terrain Knee. A new high-functioning leg gave Hussein his life back. His renewed mobility allowed Hussein to be the father and husband he was before.
